Not a slow day at the shop but was able to do a few things
« on: April 30, 2013, 04:23:53 PM »

Will try to keep this thread current. Popcorn has a ZE 1.6 with normal pistons, hot cam and GTI swift 8 throw crank. Just did 100 miles on the new engine. Following the instructions to the letter for break in so trying to stay below 4k. That is hard because I am there at half pedal. Also have the 2wd sidekick trans with the big flywheel. Really happy to have a trail rig again.

Named popcorn for the bastard year TBI that makes a popping sound all the time. Dan hooked me up with some awesome hood stickers.

Also squeezed in a driver door rebuild today with new rubber and scrapes. Dropped off the passenger spare door at the painters. The current door is smashed a bit from the PO. The list is long so more pics soon. Sweet rig really. Need to find a way to put all the ZOR stickers on it as it has just a out everything we make, lol!

I will post a pic of the electric console I made for this rig. Everything except turn signals has been put on dash switches. No key start. Head lights on pull switch as well as 2 speed wipers. Got the half doors on but took them right off after driving it on a cold morning. Have to wait a few more weeks for above 60 morning temps. So many switches I forgot what some are for.
