.22 ammo
« on: March 29, 2015, 09:58:00 PM »

I'm just curious if .22 ammo is hard to get everywhere or if it is mainly in certain locations. In my neck of the woods it is fairly scarce, and I get excited when I can buy 100 rounds at a normal price.

All our local stores (central Arizona) shelfs are stocked and prices have eased tremendously from a year ago. I am still to cheap but gonna have to find a way to pick up some cases of big bullets.

If I can find them on the shelves there not too bad of a price. The biggest problem is that people horde them or buy everything they can and then turn around and sell it for twice what is worth.

Center fire ammo is easy to find around here but .22 and .17 are a pain to find

Here in northern OR it's scarce as well. Found some bricks of Thunderbolt in a little out of the way store in the valley here. Had a price of 39.99 on the box's. A friend stopped and tried to by some and was told the price was wrong and it was 59.99. He said screw it, to spendy for 500rd's.

I can buy .17 all day long for a reasonable price. I just don't own one. One of these days when the Zuk quits draining my fun money I'll buy one. Lol. The Phloop what part of Oregon are you from? I live in Idaho on the border with Ontario.

Thought I'd check up on this. You find this stuff in places you wouldn't think of stopping at unless you hunt every ammo/gun store for what your looking for. That place I mentioned earlier jumped their prices to about $90 a brick, and it's a gas station/junk food store. I found another place. Has .22lr on hand at reasonable prices. Had no brick's today but did get three hundred rounds of CCI mini mag's for 8.99 per 100. Had CCI .22 shot shell as well. Started buying 9mm, AE 100rd for 30.99 as I'm planning on finding me a 9mm here soon.

By the way, I wasn't hunting ammo. I saw a small out of the way gun/ammo store and stopped.

It has started coming back in my area. Most places have lifted their 100 round limit. I've picked up a few bricks and some smaller boxes. Almost all of it has been see it in store and buy it.

I've been running on 10 year old stock for the last 5 years.

Only recently have I started picking up a few 550 packs for 35 bucks.

It's pretty pathetic that 22lr has become the new gasoline of pricing.

I agree. The price is outrageous.
