Definitely the way of the future.  I have gathered the parts and will be installing this setup on mine over the summer.

I have to agree it should replace the sidekick ps and even Toyota celica ps. Will it be adequate to cover what ram assist can do? Don't know what size tires are you running Curtis?

31" red labels on welded front axle.
I don't know anything about ram assist so I have no opinion on that.

You're welcome to take it for a spin if you're at ZP this year.

Are you running an electric steering unit?

Update
Move the control module as it occasionally over heats due to its proximity to the header.
So either make a good heat shield or lengthen the wiring to move it further from the header.

I am mostly interested in how the mechanical box holds up to the excessive forces. I like the idea but not convinced of its longevity.

I did have to replace the stock Sammy box once due to twisting and partially stripping the output shaft. However this was mostly because I kept demonstrating the power by using the steering to shove my Zuk over when the wheel was intentionally tight up against a boulder.

Also I believe Geno is running this setup with his locked 37's.
I'll see how he likes it this Saturday.

Update, many more crawling runs and high speed desert runs later, (I average about a run a month) and the EPS has not given me one moment of trouble. Has come in very handy once when I had to back down a hill with no engine. Nice to always have power steering as long as key is on.

I very well may go this route when I need power steering. Right now with my itty bitty tires I have no problem turning the wheel.

This is a really cool setup and seems like a viable PS option.
