2 cooling fans?
« on: November 27, 2018, 07:42:44 AM »

Is it normal to have an electric fan in front of the radiator and a clutch fan on the engine side?

I do believe that electric fan is for the air conditioning.

That seems to be exactally what it is after finding some info online. I dont have A/C so Im thinking of getting rid of it for better air flow. I did have a random overheating issue just before I pulled it into the garage for a repaint. I wont have it on the road for a month or so to test the new thermostat.

You can use the oil dipstick to run through the little passages in the radiator to see if they're clogged.

A little tip I picked up here. 2up

They're usually used to force extra air across the heat exchanger for the a/c system. If you don't have one of those then perhaps someone previous added it for extra cooling. If you have clogs/buildup in your radiator, I'd  take care of those first. Scale can build up over time, and regular changing of coolant w/DISTILLED water is required to prevent this.

Would you be interested in trading your Ac parts for ZOR product?

That's the weird thing is I don't see any A/C components besides the fan. Been stripped or he added the fan for extra cooling? If you want the fan its up for grabs as long as I don't need it to keep this thing from overheating.

From that picture what we have here is a failure to fabricate.

That was a rare condenser fan for AC that has been welded to other brackets. I need the fan as was delivered from factory. It is most likely set up with a switch and is there to help keep things cool.

Ya I kind of question a few fabrications on this rig I am now fixing. The fan runs full time as soon as I turn the key on. Kinda worries me he had an overheating issue he tried.to solve with this setup. New thermostat is on the list.
