Anyone have an aluminum dash? They look neat but no glove box lol
I've wanted/ have plans for one. My idea for the glove box was to use one from Tuffy, most likely either the one meant for a CJ or a YJ or Bronco, which ever one is going to fit best. Then drill a hole in the back for the hood cable. Also because I just like Tuffy.
I thought about building one but never followed through.

I agree, I like the stock Sami dash. For me it's another part of the character that makes them what they are. Personally, I'd rather my Samurai not look or resemble anything jeep.

My stock dash is covered in mud stains.

When I had mine out I power washed it and a little scrubbing and it was pretty nice but I threw a couple coats of paint on it for good measure. It has one small crack that seems stable and I'm living with. Haven't really figured a way to patch it that won't look worse than it does now.

If I ever have the dash out I will probably do that. I have gotten used to it now though.

I'd much rather spend my time either driving or wrenching on my Samurai for sure.

I was saying, that's just what's available. If they offered a replacement glove box that would fit the stock opening, I'd be all over it. But, sadly, it's only the center console Tuffy offers for the Samurai. Gota havea US made something to tamperproof lock things somewhere in Zukie, heh. Don't want to make anyone mad...

I have a crack in my dash.  I was considering using a vinyl repair kit to fill it, but I'm not sure that's a good idea.
