tuning/jetting help?
« on: May 29, 2019, 10:39:09 AM »

Has anyone changed jets for fine turning A/F that can give a starting point or should I even try this? I want (more than need) to change my jets from what came in the modified carb. My 1.6 is running 3-4 PSI boost and is set idling 14.7 A/F, but I run into issues trying to run stoich while driving. If I set fuel pressure at around 1.5-2.5 PSI I'm running rich (9.5-11 A/F) at speeds up to 50 MPH and above 50 I'm maxing out the A/F gauge at 9 solid. I have achieved 11-12.7 at cruise up to 60 MPH by turning the regulator all the way out. But if I try to go any faster or have to add gas to go up a hill ill run out of gas in the bowl, peg lean and begin sputtering until I take my foot off the gas and let the regulator catch up. this leads me to believe that I need a smaller jet so I can run recommend pressure to keep a constant supply of fuel.

Any suggestions?

This tube is inside the float bowl

You find the drill that fits and then you go up two sizes

Or you find the drill that fits skip one size bigger and use the next size. After this if you drill again you go one size at at a time.

Drill from hex head side
Do NOT drill past the small holes on shank shown by Phillips screw driver tip

If I'm running rich already wouldn't drill the jet worsen the issue?
