Got Questions? / Flat tow 87 Zuke with True neu...
Last post by Bigfootford - Apr 16, 2024, 01:51 PM
First I hope that folks will start using this forum!

I have been flat towing my Z for years.  I did the 4.16 Tcase gears and added true neutral and the Evil Twins.  I put my tranny in 3rd gear, not 2nd. If something were to happen and the Tcase was bumped and put into 2 or 4 wd that would destroy the engine.  Well hopefully.
Now the question.
Does flat towing in true neutral do damage to any gears or the small cage bearing?

Thanks for you tube videos!

Jim.

Got Questions? / Missing Links vs Shackle Rever...
Last post by mscottzuks - Apr 05, 2024, 10:26 AM
Hi Zuk Friends,

I'm constantly scheming how to make the zuk perform better/ride better but trying to keep it on leaf springs.

I like the simplicity of leaf springs and I also think they are integral to the capabilities of the samurai. I understand anyone with links will probably tell me I'm dumb but the rigidity of the OG zuk will help throw itself over obstacles similar to that of a classic VW rail.

Anyway, I'm currently running Rubicon express 1.5 Yjs SPUA on a Sky's yj kit with Missing links on the front and toy axles.

I am ignorant to the advantages of running a shackle reversal on the front end and would like some feedback from you all... I am planning on stretching this unit in the near future and would like to improve the approach/departure

Yes I have it correct i learned that my new timing light had a degree advance that I was supposed to adjust it to correspond to the degrees on the flywheel or pulley.
it running a bit better but haven't had any backfires but still is sluggish and bogs down but not as bad.

I have my resting idle speed at 800/850ish  and am at 10 degrees at 3000 feet on the bell housing view window, however, I am still getting sluggish results and hesitation and at times I hear backfire coming from the intake when going from 1s to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd and when in 3rd if I increase the accelerator too much it bogs out unless I downshift. the air filter is brand-new  and have capped all unused vacuum lines "I think"
