Hello,

Just bought a 1991 for getting around my property. Just starting to learn the ropes. Had to replace the clutch and it went pretty good. Had it out in 2 hours and back in in about another 3-4. Put in a Drz tranny mount and replaced 1 motor mount. A little issue with the engine mount, but I will post on that later once I get some resolution with the offroad vendor. I am not going to attack them until I give them a chance. No plans to rock crawl, but I know I need to put new shocks of some type on. The dirt road is teeth chattering. I will be seeking some help with choosing those for sure. The rifle mount in rear is for the road, and the seatback is for the trails. I still need to work out some kind of handguard molle attachment. Nice to meet the group. I llok forward to helping in some way as well as getting some great advice here.

Just want to say hello and extend thanks to the Suzuki community for the good energy that you all create :) I live way off grid in the PNW 30 miles down a logging road and I randomly got this Samurai from a friend when my GMC Safari suspension blew up and the Safari needed to be sidelined for a bit until I rebuilt all the front end happenings. Got the Samurai thinking it was in great shape but on the drive home it started to overheat and realized that oil and gear oil was leaking everywhere as well. Put in a new thermostat and today just did the water pump and I'm now in it for the duration. Next I'm going to fix all the seals. I've been staying at my moms house to fix up the vehicles because she has the internet at her house and I've been learning heaps along the journey. Fixed up the Safari van and it's back to my daily driver for now but I'll be asking for some help in the coming month as I'm cleaning up the motor in the Samurai and fixing all the oil leaks and learning along the way. The drive train has issues as well and I'm far from a mechanic but the forced happenings to learn is turning into a guideline on how to approach any thing happens in life I'm learning. I've now got the service manual and I'm beginning to understand things a lot more. Anyway, thank you to ZUKS OFF ROAD and all of you in the Suzuki community for sharing your knowledge. I'm falling in love with this Samurai and excited for the adventures ahead. Thanks for taking the time. Ramble happenings from the PNW :)

Got Questions? / Re: Temperature sensor gauge
Last post by ThePhloop - Feb 04, 2024, 07:10 AM
The cheapest sending unit on amazon is $19.27.  Rockautos most expensive sending unit for the Samurai is $15.55, the cheapest is $2.22.  Even with shipping, the sending unit is cheaper through rockauto.
